Complex refining-deodorization lines are used to remove odorants, free fatty acids, phosphorus-containing substances, peroxide compounds, as well as waxy and coloring substances from vegetable oils after extraction.

Design and principle of operation of the vegetable oil deodorization line
Technological refining and deodorization lines are divided into separate sections. Each link in the process requires separate specialized equipment. The completeness, composition and power of the equipment varies depending on the technical specifications.
Complex refining-deodorization lines consist of 4 sections/lines:
1. Hydration and neutralization line
The main purpose of the lines is to purify sunflower oil from phosphorus-containing substances and other hydrophilic impurities, neutralize free fatty acids, as well as wash out soap from the oil and form soap stock.
The line uses a large amount of technological equipment, including capacitive equipment.
2. Bleaching line (adsorption processing)
The line is designed to remove dyes, as well as a certain amount of peroxide compounds and phosphorus-containing substances. Removal of chlorophyll pigments is very important since they are not removed at any other stage of refining, like carotenoid compounds during deodorization.
Main equipment of the line: vacuum bleaching devices, VNP and GNP filters. The latter is also used in the winterization process.
3. Winterization (freezing) line
Technological purpose of the vintageization line — removal of waxes and waxy substances from sunflower oil.

4. Deodorization Line
The deodorization process is the fourth stage of vegetable oil refining, which begins after bleaching and freezing are completed.
Deodorization of vegetable oil is the most important and final stage of refining. Deodorization has a great influence on the quality of refined oil and is considered the heart of the entire edible oil refining method.
Used to remove odorants from oil — substances that determine the characteristic taste and smell of oil. Deodorization is carried out by exposing the oil to superheated steam. Before being sent to the deodorizer, the fat must be thoroughly refined and free of traces of soap and bleaching clay.
Main equipment: containers, deodorizer for supplying hot steam and police filters.
