Cyclones are designed to purify air from dust in pneumatic transport and aspiration systems at enterprises for the storage and processing of mixed feed, grain, food industry and agriculture.
Characteristic
Battery-type cyclones are devices for cleaning air or gases from solid particles and dust. They work on the basis of centrifugal force, which separates particles from the main air flow.
A battery cyclone is a certain number of cyclone elements having a common housing, a dust hopper, supply and discharge of dusty air. Basically, battery installations are equipped with a prefabricated box, a common hopper and cyclones of the left and right versions.
A distinctive feature of this type of aspiration system is the presence of rotary inlet and outlet pipes, which allows for quick installation of the installation.
The principle of operation of a battery dust collector at a feed mill is the same as that of a single cyclone, but significant differences in the design of these filters can be noticed.
The principle of operation
Dusty air enters the cyclones through the inlet pipe and receives a rotating helical motion. Dust particles, under the influence of centrifugal force, are pressed against the walls of the cyclones, lose speed and roll down into a collection cone.
With the help of a sluice gate unit, the collected dust is discharged into the dust pipe, and the purified air is discharged from the cyclones upwards or sideways into the purified air duct through the exhaust pipes of the cyclones and the collection box.
The size and designation of the battery installation are determined by the diameter of the cyclones included in it.
Advantages
- High efficiency depending on the working conditions 85-96%;
- Low cost and easy maintenance;
- The battery and single cyclone are identical in principle of operation, but differ in size. This is due to the use of a guide device in the form of a screw or socket in each element of the cyclone. Therefore, the size of the battery pack is much smaller with the same performance;
- Simplicity of design and reliability of operation;
- The ability to work with polluted environments with high dust concentrations;
- The possibility of use in various industries - from metallurgy to woodworking.
Disadvantages
- Inability to capture fine dust and aerosols;
- The inability to capture fine dust and aerosols.
