Crusher bushings are designed to reduce wear on parts and ensure efficient operation of equipment. They serve as a spacer between moving machine parts, such as shafts and gears, and static elements, such as the body.
Characteristic
Bushings perform several important functions:
- Crusher body protection: They prevent body wear by reducing friction between moving parts and stationary elements.
- Noise Reduction: Bushings help reduce vibration and noise generated by crusher operation.
- Ensure Smooth Movement: They help ensure moving parts glide smoothly, preventing equipment from snagging and jamming.
- Reduced Part Wear: Bushings protect moving parts from wear, extending crusher life and reducing repair costs.
- Temperature Control: Bushings can also help control the temperature inside the crusher, preventing overheating and possible equipment damage.
Bushings are divided into 4 categories:
- Protective sleeve – designed to protect the shaft;
- Eccentric bushing – creates shaft displacement on cone crushers;
- Traverse bushing – secures the shaft from above and also protects it;
- Tapered bushings – secure the bearings.
Metal bushings are made from high quality materials such as stainless steel, which ensures their strength and durability.
Bronze bushings are a popular choice for use in cone crushers due to their high strength, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, making it an ideal material for bushings that operate under high friction and wear conditions.
Important!!! select the dimensions of the bushings down to the millimeter, for example, if the eccentric bushing is larger in size, then the shaft will “dangle” and because of this it will quickly fail, which will lead to large financial losses. If the bushing is smaller, the shaft will not fit into the bushing.
The principle of operation
Crusher bushings work on the principle of reducing friction and wear between moving and stationary parts. As the shaft or gear rotates inside the crusher body, the bushing provides a smooth sliding surface to prevent friction and wear. This allows equipment to operate more efficiently and with less wear, increasing service life and reducing repair costs.
Advantages
Metal bushings have a number of advantages:
- More resistant to high temperatures, corrosion and wear, making them an ideal choice for heavy-duty crusher applications.
- Provide better glide and reduce friction between parts, which leads to increased productivity and reduced energy consumption.
- Easy to replace if necessary, which reduces equipment downtime and reduces repair costs.
Bronze bushings have a number of advantages:
- They have good thermal conductivity, which helps control the temperature inside the crusher and prevents overheating.
- They have good anti-friction properties, which ensures smooth movement and reduced wear of parts.
- However, bronze bushings can be more expensive than other types of bushings such as metal or plastic. In addition, they may require special treatment or coating to improve their properties and extend their service life.
We supply high-quality bushings for any model of crushing equipment in a short time; we have a wide range of bushings in stock. Bushings for crushers can be manufactured individually according to your drawings.
