The technological purpose of vegetable oil bleaching (adsorption) lines is to remove dyes, as well as a certain amount of peroxide compounds and phosphorus-containing substances.
Characteristic
- The vegetable oil adsorption line is a set of equipment used to select coloring elements, peroxide compounds, fatty acids, sodium soaps, as well as substances containing phosphorus obtained during refining or hydration. Such a bleaching line is manufactured, depending on the purpose, and can be both cyclic and permanent.
- The capacity of our bleaching lines is from 30 tons per day.
Adsorption processing
- The dried vegetable oil is fed through a heat exchanger, where it is heated to the design temperature, into a vacuum bleaching apparatus. To deactivate traces of soap and metal, a solution of citric acid is added to the oil stream.
- The adsorbent is supplied to the vacuum bleaching apparatus by a dispenser. In a vacuum bleaching apparatus, the oil is intensively combined with the adsorbent. The suspension is sprayed into the upper part of the installation and, after passing through a series of partitions, it accumulates in the lower part. The vacuum in the apparatus is created using a steam ejector unit.
Oil filtration
- After the vacuum bleaching apparatus, the suspension is fed into the filtration process into one of the filters. After the filtration process, the bleached oil is fed into the oil tank for subsequent processing, and the adsorbent with impurities, deposited on the filter partitions in the form of sediment, is dried with steam and removed from the filter.
- The mist separator helps separate steam from moisture and oil. The latter are drained into a container, and the steam is released into the atmosphere. In the container, water and vegetable oil are separated by settling. Using a vacuum, the oil is drawn into the vacuum bleaching apparatus, and the water enters the grease trap.
The principle of operation

The oil enters the device from the E10 reservoir through the H2o pump through the T16o heat exchanger, where it is heated to a temperature of about 100°C using low pressure steam, after which it is redirected to the E3o vacuum adsorbing unit. Citric acid is sent into the oil flow from the E9o tank using the H10o pump, which neutralizes the effects of soap and metals.
Using the D12o dispenser, the vacuum bleaching unit E3o receives the adsorbent from the E110 tank using the D12o dispenser. After this, active mixing of the adsorbent with oil occurs in the E3o tank. The vacuum is formed by means of a steam ejector section PB13o, combined with the unit using a cyclone E17o. From the E3o bleaching unit, the suspension is fed to the F50 filter. The resulting mixture is drained through the filter, the adsorbent remains on the barrier, and the purified oil enters the winterization section. After the pressure in the filter reaches its highest value, the substance is redirected to another filter.
The remaining suspension is poured into the E14o tank, after which it is dried using steam. The resulting mixture is sent to the E15o drop separator, which separates the steam from the oil. The moisture-oil suspension is poured into the E14o tank, where the process of splitting oil and water is carried out. The water is directed into the grease trap, oil – into a vacuum bleaching unit.
