The equipment is designed for hydration and neutralization of vegetable oils, i.e. special processing of oil using modern technologies in order to improve the quality of the oil and increase its shelf life and sale.
Appointment
The hydration and neutralization line is designed to purify vegetable oils from phosphorus-containing substances and other hydrophilic impurities, neutralize free fatty acids, and also wash soap out of oil to form soap stock.
Design and principle of operation
The complex line consists of: neutralizers with a stirrer, heaters for drying, a device for supplying softened water, a tank for preparing alkali with a stirrer drive, a pump for supplying alkali to the neutralizer, a plate heat exchanger, a pump for supplying oil to the heat exchanger, a tank with heating elements for heating softened water, a pump for supplying water, a device for supplying acid to the neutralizer, a vacuum station, a pump for pumping out oil from the neutralizers, a device for supplying inert gas, shut-off and safety valves, instrumentation and automation, control panels and structural elements for connecting separate equipment in a line.
Characteristics of the extraction line
The productivity of the line (duration of the technological cycle) depends on the acid and peroxide number of the oil being processed.
1. Hydration of vegetable oils
The process, which has a name, neutralization of vegetable oils begins with heating. Vegetable oil is pumped from the container through a heat exchanger, in which it is heated to the required temperature. Heating is carried out using deodorized steam and oil.
Orthophosphoric acid is supplied to the heated oil, which is intensively mixed in a separate dynamic blade mixer. During the mixing process, phosphorus-containing substances become hydrated. The hydration reaction occurs in the container over a period of time.
2. Neutralization of vegetable oils
After which the oils are neutralized. It helps extract acid and reduce the dose of ester. Cooling occurs in the same place where the oil was heated. After cooling is complete, the oil and lye are mixed with a special mixer. The alkali is supplied by a pump from the reservoir. Thanks to the reaction that occurs during stirring, phosphoric acids and free fats are released. Lye base – this is heated water. The whole process ends in a special tank and then enters the heat exchanger, where it is heated.
3. Washing vegetable oils
Refined neutralized oil enters the heater and is heated under low pressure to 95 degrees using steam. Then mix the oil with hot water. After heating, the oil enters the separator and cold water is pumped into it by a pump, where they are separated. As a result, alkali is separated from refining residues. At the end of the washing, the soap stock is removed from the container using a pump into an outdoor container, the water containing fats is sent to a specially designed grease trap, from where it is then pumped into a storage container, and the oil is sent for further processing.
