A belt conveyor is a continuous conveying device with a working body in the form of a belt, used to move grain and its processed products in horizontal and inclined directions.
Depending on the purpose and installation location, there are various belt conveyor schemes:
1. Horizontal belt conveyors;
2. Inclined belt conveyors;
3. With a variable angle of inclination;
4. With a straight smooth ribbon surface;
5. With partitions (crossbars) on the tape.
Characteristic
Basic technical characteristics that vary depending on design features and other parameters:
- The distance of cargo transportation is from 2 to 100 meters or more.
- The width of the belt of the unit is from 300 mm to 2 m or more (on an individual order).
- The power of the power unit driving the belt is from 1 kW to 30 kW.
- The speed of movement of goods, bulk materials, and grain crops on the conveyor is from 0.5 m/s to 6.3 m/s.
- The productivity of the machine ranges from 5-10 t/h to 70-80 t/h and more.
- The coating of straight conveyor belts is smooth, chevron, rubberized, or grooved surface.
- The possible mounting angle is from 0 to 30 degrees.
- The type of gutter (if available) is spherical, U-shaped, V-shaped.
- The electrical voltage in the network is 3 phases / 380V, the industrial frequency current is 50 Hz.
- The set height for unloading goods from the conveyor belt is from 50 mm to 3000 mm (when buying a machine in a standard version).
In addition to the listed characteristics, when manufacturing belt conveyors, geometric parameters are also taken into account, which are assigned individually, depending on the design of the machine and its functionality.
Belt conveyors consist of the main components: a drive drum, a conveyor drive (gear motor), a tension drum, a tension unit, a bearing belt part, supporting and supporting rollers or a supporting sheet table, a conveyor frame.

The principle of operation
The conveyor belt is supported by roller supports: the upper branch – straight or grooved, lower – straight.
Deflector rollers and centering roller supports protect the belt from moving to the side. In the loading area, the conveyor can be equipped with shock-absorbing rollers or a receiving table with shock-absorbing pads. Such measures help absorb the impact of falling pieces and protect the tape from tearing.
The conveyor belt is driven by a drive. The drive station consists of a drive drum and a drive assembly - gear motor
The tension station is responsible for tensioning the belt; it consists of a tension drum and a tension device, which can be screw, cargo trolley, cargo frame (vertical).
The drive and tension stations are mounted on supports, roller supports are mounted on linear sections that are supported by racks. Sometimes the lower branch of the belt is supported by straight upper roller supports mounted on supports with a bracket.
