BIC analyzer of raw materials and processed products
Purpose of the measuring instrument
The SupNIR grain, grain products and compound feeds analyzers (hereinafter referred to as analyzers) are designed for rapid measurements of quantitative indicators (mass fraction of fat, protein, moisture, gluten, ash) of a number of food products, including compound feeds, grains, legumes, oilseeds and their processed products.
Description of the measuring instrument
The principle of operation of the analyzers is based on the method of infrared (IR) reflection and transmission spectroscopy in the near-infrared region. During the analysis, the intensity of optical radiation according to a special program by the method of multifactor analysis is recalculated into the following indicators of compound feeds, grains, legumes, oilseeds and their processed products: mass fraction of protein, mass fraction of moisture (moisture), mass fraction of crude gluten, mass fraction of fat, mass fraction of ash, etc.
Structurally, the analyzer is a laboratory desktop device and consists of the following main components:
- a measuring unit including an IR radiation source (halogen lamp), a full-scanning lattice-type monochromator; a focusing optical system; a Galium-Indium arsenide detector;
- a sample transportation unit designed to place and move (rotational motion) the cuvette with the sample under study in the radiation stream;
- information management and processing unit, including a personal computer.
The principle of operation
The analysis is performed automatically under the control of specialized RIMP software running in a Windows environment on a separate PC. The measurement process includes the following operations: the operator places a cuvette with a sample of the analyzed material on a stand under the analyzer lamp and starts the analyzer using the software. The analysis results are displayed on a PC screen, with the possibility of further study, plotting, exporting to Excel, PDF, or can be transferred to peripheral devices (printer) using a USB 2.0 communication interface.
The analyzer is designed to analyze samples of compound feeds, grains, grain products, legumes and oilseeds without prior sample preparation or after grinding. Cuvettes for whole grain and for powdered (ground) product are provided for the analyzed samples. A special rotary table, on which the sample cuvette is mounted, ensures repeated measurement of the sample during the analysis process.
The analyzers are available in three versions: SupNIR–2300, SupNIR-2720 and SupNIR-2750, which differ in spectral ranges: the SupNIR-2300 and SupNIR-2720 analyzers operate in the spectral range from 1000 to 1800 nm, while the SupNIR-2750 analyzer operates in the spectral range from 1000 db.
