The principle of operation
- The feedstock is loaded into the granulator hopper.
- From the hopper, the raw material is fed into a mixer, where it is mixed with water or other binder to form a paste.
- The paste passes through a matrix with small holes called filters. The spinners can have different shapes and sizes depending on the required size of the granules.
- Under the pressure of the press, the paste is pressed through the dies, forming long filaments, the filaments are then cut and fall in the form of granules onto a conveyor or into a receiving hopper.
- The pellets then pass through a dryer, where they lose most of their moisture and become hard and dense.
- After drying, the pellets are ready for packaging, storage or use.
Advantages
- High productivity: Pellet presses are capable of producing large volumes of pellets in a short period of time.
- High quality granules.
- Less dust.
- Flexibility: The pellet presses can work with different types of materials and can be customized to produce pellets of different sizes and shapes.
- They are more economical in operation compared to other types of granulators.
