Hopper scales for raw materials
Appointment
Electronic hopper scales are designed to automatically measure the mass of bulk products - raw materials (rapeseed, soybeans) by dividing them into separate portions and determining the total mass as the sum of the masses of individual portions (doses) during accounting and technological operations. The scales allow you to control the process of dosing and accounting of raw materials in production or processing lines.
Characteristic
Structurally, the scales consist of a control unit in the form of a hopper (vessel or container) with devices for loading and unloading material, supported through weighing sensors on a power frame (frame) and a control system.
The weight control unit can be made in the form of a hopper with one or more unloading flaps of various shapes and operating principles for bulk materials fixed in the lower part.
Operating modes:
- Infinitely outweighing the product flow with maximum productivity
- Formation of the final dose
- Maintaining a set average outweighing performance
Standard equipment
- Weight part assembly:
– power frame with removable protective covers – sector shut-off valve
– a weighing hopper with an unloading flap
– a set of load cells – a connecting box
- Control panel with integrated weight converter
- A set of connecting cables from the control panel to the scales (6 m)
- Set of loading platforms
- Product availability sensor (support sensor for a suspended hopper)
- Accounting software (available on our website)

The principle of operation
Each cycle of operation of the hopper scales includes the following phases:
- Self-diagnosis of the control unit when the supply voltage is switched on
- Hopper loading – the upper flap is open, the lower one is closed
- Cutting off the flow by closing the upper flap when the set portion weight is reached
- Calming the measuring system, accurately weighing the mass of the product in the hopper
- Unloading the hopper
- Container control when the hopper is empty and the flaps are closed
- Calculating the mass of the product that has passed through the scales (the difference between the weight of a full and an empty bin)
- Summing the net weight with a cumulative total
The algorithm of the scales is based on the summation of statically weighted portions.
During operation, the current weight of the product in the weighing bin is displayed in real time on the upper indicator of the weighing converter. The additional cumulative total shows counters or current performance.
Operating modes:
- infinite outweighing of the product flow with maximum productivity
- formation of the final dose
- maintenance of a given average productivity
Advantages
- High accuracy, accuracy of 0.2% of the measured mass of the product:
- the scales are equipped with load cells that maintain stable metrological characteristics when operating over a wide temperature range;
- the design of the scale ensures rapid attenuation of oscillatory processes between weighing cycles
- The high reliability of hopper scales is ensured through the use of high-quality components, electric and pneumatic actuators, with an average service life exceeding 15 years.
- Maximum productivity – up to 800 t/h and high weighing speed
- The scale structure is made of carbon steel with powder-coated exterior surfaces.
- The unified design of the loading module allows you to connect an electric or pneumatic drive
- The sealed case of scales preventing penetration of dust
- The protective cover of the loading module significantly increases the safety of personnel during the operation of the scales
- Easy to install and maintain - the scales take from 2 hours to set up
- Feeder: gravity, screw, belt
- Multifunctional software (free software included)
